Pune: Two arrested, two minors detained
Pune: In a shocking development, Pune city police have arrested two men aged between 20 to 22 years and detained two minors on the charges of raping a 16-year-old girl. The victim was studying in a Pune based college.
The incident was uncovered at a college-organised session on sexual offenses against children. During the conversation, a female student appeared unhappy, and when she was taken into confidence, she told counsellors about the 16-year-old victim, who is a friend, and the hardship she is going through.
According to the police, the four accused do not know each other personally and were in contact with the victim through social media platforms. An FIR was registered at the police station in Pune following the complaint received by the 16-year-old girl. The accused have been booked on the charges of rape and provision of the protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO) act.
They have also been charged with the sections of the Information and Technology act.
