PM Modi Oath taking Ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took Oath of Office and Secrecy on June 9, Sunday, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Along with Narendra Modi, other members of the Union Council of Ministers including 30 cabinet ministers, 5 ministers of state with independent charge, and 36 ministers of state also took oath on Sunday. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office.

Key BJP leaders who took oath alongside PM Modi include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar and Piyush Goyal. Several former chief ministers were sworn in as ministers, including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, HD Kumaraswamy, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Sarbanand Sonowal.

The event was attended by over 8,000 dignitaries, including foreign dignitaries.

The MEA emphasised, "The visit of the leaders to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third consecutive term is in keeping with the highest priority accorded by India to its 'Neighbourhood First' policy and 'SAGAR’ vision.”

Besides participating in the swearing-in ceremony, the foreign leaders  also attended a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, later in the same evening.

Indian dignitaries:

  • Prominent figures from various fields such as lawyers, doctors, artists, cultural performers, and influencers. This includes Viksit Bharat ambassadors, beneficiaries of Central government schemes, tribal women and sanitation workers.
  • Around 50 distinguished religious leaders from various faiths have also been invited.
  • Participants who were recognised by Modi for their contributions are also attended the ceremony.
  • Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awardees were in attendance. 

With effect from 09.06.2024:

There was a prohibition on flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, paramotors, hang-gliders, UAVS, UASS, microlight aircrafts, remotely piloted aircrafts, hot air balloons, small sized powered aircrafts, quadcopters or para-jumping from aircraft etc. Over the jurisdiction of the NCT of Delhi because of swearing-in ceremony in the National Capital Territory of Delhi to thwart criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India from posing a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations by using them.
