'Messi magic' in India! Kerala set to host Argentina football team for friendlies

Kerala sports minister V. Abdurahiman on Wednesday, 20 November, made a historic announcement of hosting World champions Argentina, led by the legendary Lionel Messi for a friendly match in 2025.
During a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, Abdurahiman stated that the match will be hosted by the complete supervision of Kerala Government. He said- "All the financial assistance for organising this high-profile football event will be provided by the merchants of the state."
Kerala's CM Pinarayi Vijayan too, acknowledged this news on social media. He on X(formerly Twitter) confirmed the news that Kerala government indeed is making an effort to host the world champions Argentina for friendlies in the state.

Leo Messi last visited India, where he enjoys a tremendous amount of love and fan following, in 2011 to play a friendly match. Kolkata's Salt Lake stadium hosted Argentina national team's match against Venezuela. The match ended in a goalless draw.
Since then, Messi's stature as a football player has grown significantly. He is now a World Cup winner and one of the greatest athletes of all time. So, it will be a golden opportunity for all the football fans in India to watch him play live in our country. The date, venue and time is yet to be revealed, so stay tuned.
